Their vision was simple and deeply practical: help parents stay alive and well enough to care for their children. In coastal Kenya, that calling grew into a hospital serving the wider community.

Kirsi Nyrhinen and Pia Linda spoke with Terry and Reneé about a journey that began in Christian ministry, music, and Bible teaching. As they encountered families affected by HIV, they saw a need that reached beyond the church gathering.

Care that reaches the home

They described visiting homes, helping provide food and medicine, and supporting parents. Their concern was for the whole family: caring for adults could also help children remain with the people who loved them.

From that beginning, the work developed into a medical facility. In the interview, they explained that the clinic had grown into a hospital, with medical professionals providing care.

A welcome for the community

The services they described included maternity care, deliveries, and surgical outreach for women who could not afford treatment elsewhere. The hospital's welcome extended to people of different faiths and backgrounds.

The women spoke of showing Christ's love in tangible ways-through attention, treatment, and a willingness to serve anyone who came.

The practical needs behind care

Terry and Reneé recalled investing through Terry Mize Ministries and JMICF. The conversation also highlighted solar power and the equipment needed to support the facility's electricity supply.

Behind every place of care are practical requirements: trained people, useful equipment, power, and resources. Supporting those needs helps the people doing the work keep their attention on the community they serve.
