For John and Cindy Mortimer's family, ministry on the Peruvian Amazon became a calling shared across four generations.

Their journey toward Peru began with prayer and preparation. Father and son each marked the same place on separate maps while seeking God's direction. For their family, that shared discovery became an encouragement to move toward ministry in the Amazon.

A family on the river

A catamaran houseboat traveled from Duluth to the Amazon as part of that journey. Around Iquitos and the river communities of Peru, the family's life and ministry took root.

Evangelistic Harvest of the Amazon carries that family commitment forward. Four generations have been part of the work.

The practical needs behind a calling

A missionary family still needs a home and the everyday things that help a household function. Through the generosity of JMICF and TMM partners, we helped provide practical household furnishings for a growing branch of the family.

Those gifts supported the people behind the ministry. They were a way to stand alongside a family that had committed its life to serving others.
