JMICF Brochure is Here!
We greet you this fine spring day in the majestic name that Heaven has never failed to honor and that Hell has never failed to tremble at; the name of Jesus. May was extremely busy and productive for the kingdom. We ministered in 18 wonderful and anointed services in 5 partner churches and the first week of June, straight into a three-day convention of several services a day, where I was the keynote speaker. The Holy Spirit provided salvations, healings, miracles, deliverance and some 50, I’m told, people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, all glory to God!
On the day of Pentecost, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter stood up and preached a message that caused 3,000 people to get saved. The crux of the message was this, Acts 2:22: “Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.” Peter very plainly tells us that God’s stamp of approval was then and is now; miracles, wonders and signs. He tells us that God did them right in the face of the people and that they all very well knew it.
Then Acts 3 and 4 tell us about the huge and wonderful miracle that God did by Peter and John in the miracle healing of the crippled man at the beautiful gate of the temple. Peter grabbed this man by the hand and pulled him to his feet and commanded him to walk in Jesus’ name. The man was over 40 years old, verse 22 of chapter 4 informs us, and had been crippled “from his mother’s womb” and was begging daily at the gate his whole life. Everyone in Jerusalem knew this man according to the Scripture.
Now look at verses 14 and 16. Acts 4:14, “And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.” Acts 4:16, “Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.”
Isn’t it amazing? The church and the people wanted to say something against it, but they could not. They wanted to deny it but again, they could not. You cannot deny a miracle. It is God’s stamp of approval. Only God does miracles. I have said for many years that a man or woman with a testimony always has the advantage over a man or woman with a doctrine. They could tell this man all day long that Jesus doesn’t heal, that miracles don’t happen, that God doesn’t do miracles… But he would simply say…yeah? But I’m healed, I can walk…
Jesus healed a blind man, and the church told him that Jesus was a bad man. The former blind man said…I don’t know if He is a Republican or a Democrat, a good guy or a bad guy. I just know I was blind and now I see! The great preacher F.F. Bosworth said, “Miracles are the dinner bell to the world.”
Why did the church and the town want to deny the miracle? Bigger question, why do so many ministers in the church today want to deny miracles? I suppose the easy answer is that miracles and those of us who have them intimidate many preachers. Maybe they feel invalidated. Maybe it exposes them and makes them feel small. They certainly didn’t like Jesus because He did miracles. He made them feel like the pygmies they were…… and nobody likes to feel small spiritually.
The great ministers that I learned from and stood beside as we brought the great “faith” or “Word of Faith” message to the church over 50 years ago loved the miracles of God. They had them and shared them and told miracle stories. Men that I counted friends, fathers and in whose homes, I visited… Oral Roberts, TL Osborn, John Osteen, Lester Sumrall, Kenneth Hagin, Fred Price, Kenneth Copeland, Norvel Hayes…great Fathers and Generals. They not only had miracles but told stories of others who had them. These men told my miracle stories as well and had me come tell them in their meetings. Brother Hagin ordered me to tell miracle stories in our conventions in ICFM and other places. Oral Roberts told me one day at lunch that I was missing God. I asked him how? He said, “You are not telling miracles enough in your sermons.” He told me that I MUST tell the story that took place in Mexico, of the would-be robber and murderer that shot at me five times and the bullets didn’t hit me because I had rebuked him, taken spiritual authority and told him that I was a man of God and that he couldn’t kill me in Jesus’ name. Oral told me not to let the church forget that God does miracles and told me that that testimony was such a powerful testament to God’s miracle power, that I MUST tell it…John Osteen told me the same.
Now on the other hand, I have had so many ministers tell me not to tell miracles, that miracles are no big deal. In one meeting, where Brother Hagin had just told me what to preach and I did, a pastor, a leader in our organization, said to me after the message, “Terry, why did you feel like you had to share those miracles? We didn’t need to hear that.” I told him, “Look, you don’t like miracles because you don’t have them, but that’s a dangerous position to deny the power and the approval of God.”
Some ministers are actually saying that we don’t need the supernatural today. We don’t need miracles, signs and wonders today. WHAT?? It is so amazing to me that church leaders today of such lesser quality than those of old would actually put down and do away with the supernatural power of God. Real leaders, real pastors and ministers, real people of God today embrace God’s healings and miracles and pray for God’s power to be demonstrated in the church and in God’s people. So many pastors ask me to minister in their church or camp meeting, in their pulpit so the people can see the ministry gift of the Apostle and a veteran missionary statesman (their words, not mine). For those that don’t…I guess I should be used to it by now after all these years…these that have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof, but it still baffles me.
Preachers have said for years, “the devil can do miracles.” Well, I’ve got news for you…No he can’t. He is not a creator and doesn’t do miracles. He does tricks, magic, and illusions, but not miracles. Some of you used to serve the devil and hung out in his places; you can attest he didn’t do miracles there. I have been to other lands of other gods, but I can attest they don’t do miracles.
One of my grown children got upset with me at one point (imagine that?), so one of my preacher friends made the statement to me… “Terry, all your miracles, all your missionary stories are no good unless you get your child back in a good relationship with you.” What? What a moronic statement. Do people just really hate miracles and God’s works so much, are they just simply so intimidated that they would actually make a ridiculous statement like that? Does it make them feel good or big to try to make the works of God small and of non-effect? Maybe we should ask the people I have raised from the dead what they think about that. Maybe we should ask the countless blind that now see, deaf that now hear, crippled that now walk, demon possessed that are now free, countless sinners that would have spent eternity in Hell that are now in Heaven or are on their way.
Brother Hagin used to say, “that is ignorance gone to seed” and “I would rather hear a donkey bray in a tin barn at midnight.” By the way, there is no Scripture or Bible that says parents are responsible for their grown children being in a good mood with them…aren’t we glad about that. A lot of preachers would be disqualified from ministry, even very famous ones, including the very one that told me that nonsense. Of course, it wasn’t long before all was well in the family, but I’m sad to say my fixing the problem with my family member didn’t fix the extraordinary ignorance and stupidity of the minister who said that…
Well, this missionary, for one, loves the supernatural power of God. I will take all the miracles possible. Do you think the church would be stronger and healthier today if she embraced and exposed the people to miracles and miracle ministries?
The world is calling, and I am going. We just preached a three-day convention for FGBMFI in Houston. Missions trips coming up, to Israel, Romania, Mexico, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji, Pago Pago and New Zealand in the South Pacific. We covet your prayers and so appreciate your financial support. We love you, and we pray for you daily. Send your prayer requests and praise reports. Watch us on YouTube and other platforms, new each Thursday.
Your miracle missionary,
Terry L. Mize
